'I have just completed a 4 month training course with Johan, covering approximately 20 sessions. My personal goals were to complete rehabilitation from knee surgery last summer and to gain a level of fitness that would allow me to return to playing field hockey at a good standard again on a weekly basis. Following my involvement with Johan I have been able to return to hockey at a considerably higher level of fitness than I had otherwise been able to achieve over the last 2/3 years and absolutely no problem from my knee injury.
As an added advantage, my training with Johan (particularly core strength training) has also significantly reduced problems with lower back pain which is a perennial problem for most "aging" hockey players (I'm 47!).
Johan produced a varied an interesting programme that kept me motivated throughout the period we worked together. I found him to be a very knowledgeable on all aspects of his training regime and was always willing to explain in detail the benefits of each exercise. A hard task master but that's what you need to push yourself to a higher level of performance. As someone who appreciates good time keeping and organisation, it was an added bonus to find a trainer that never cancelled a session and was always on time and prompt to respond to any telephone calls or emails.

‘I have only been training with Johan for a few weeks, but I have to say am utterly amazed at the results. I've been using a gym for a number of years, with little success. Largely because I was not aware that so much more could be achieved using a Personal Trainer. The workouts are very varied, no two have yet been the same.  We tend to use heavy kettlebells, some cord weights, large exercise balls, small exercise balls, weights, benches and sometimes cardio structures - running, jumping, hopping! ‘Having been overweight my entire life, I thought I was going to die overweight. I have always worked out and played sports my entire life but could never seemed to get slim. I was teased my entire life because of my weight and I finally came to accept that this body shape was what I was stuck with. That is, until I met Johan and made the best decision of my life to take him on as my personal trainer. I told him that I wanted to focus on losing weight and toning my arms all the while being skeptical that any change would occur. Johan suggested how I should eat according to what my food preferences were and I changed my eating habits. I ate more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and nuts, and I cut out chocolates, crisps, and a lot of carbohydrates. I still enjoyed the occasional treat, but realized that I did not need these unhealthy foods I have been eating all my life.

Johan got me working out hard during my sessions—getting my heart pumped up, and pushing me past limits I have ever reached before. Johan not only motivated me to work out hard during our sessions, but he also influenced me to push myself during my own work out sessions. He taught me new methods of cardio and introduced me to new forms of weight training that were both challenging and fun.

In the span of my short few months training with Johan, I was not only able to drop more than 20 lbs, but I also experienced and adapted a new, healthy lifestyle. My friends and family tell me that I’ve never looked better and that they can see a new found confidence in me. Thanks to Johan, I have modified my false thinking that I could never lose weight and I now know that I can physically change if I put the right mind and effort behind it. The only regret I have is ending my training sessions with Johan due to my move to a different country and my hope is to one day be able to train with Johan again. I would most definitely recommend Johan’s training to anyone—whatever age, size, or physical level.
